SLIF Export equivalent to v4.1 (XML Export)
Version 4.1 supported SLIF file exports that could be imported into iRunTrains or other applications. RailModeller-Pro seems to be lacking this feature.

I agree - it would be great!
We've got too much on our to-do list for the coming months to tackle this ourself in the near future but lobbying for an updated/final iRunTrains version with Paul (author of iRunTrains, www.iruntrains.com) can't do any harm I guess ;-)

I would love a way to test layouts! I have been looking into scarm on windows that has an add in module so you can test run trains on your layouts without having to actually build them first. Would love to see this in RMPro.

Thanks for the feedback - unfortunately the author has discontinued TrainPlayer for Mac years ago for economic reasons.
The Mac model train market share is tiny compared to the Windows market share where the majority of his apps are sold.. -

I know I am late to this but I would like to see you add it. I use both RM Pro and Anyrails during the summer but when I go south for the winter, only RM Pro goes with me. I find exporting to Train Player is an excellent way to see if the layout works. Too often what looks like inspiration turns to a dogs dinner when in use. Thanks

JMRI is also in the works -

definitely would like to see a way to export to JMRI PanelPro

To be honest - with many popular outstanding feature requests and an overflowing backlog vs. two requests for XML export in 2+ years... can't say.
Probably this year?

Any ETA for this request? Best,
-
To clarify:
This request covers exporting layout files to an open, documented XML file format.

The feature isn't currently available in RailModeller Pro and Express, that's correct.
It was rarely used in the old app and we didn't get a single question about the missing SLIF Export in RM Pro since the app was introduced two years ago..
We'll certainly look into re-integrating it (and keeping it current with all the ongoing changes) if interest picks up!
