Side-view of y-axis
It would help for l-shaped layouts to have a side-view not only for x-axis, but also for y-axis. It could be placed e.g. on the left side of the main screen.

[SHOW LESS] Community Layout - Lego, Carrera
Many new items in community layouts are for carrera slot car or lego. I am interested only in railway plans.
Twitter has a SHOW LESS button to tell it not to show tweets for some topic. Proposal: Have a SHOW LESS button for slot car or lego!

Export layout to iTrains
Export the entire layout to be used in iTrains.
1 voteWe've talked it over in the past but there is currently no way RailModeller Pro layouts could be useful in the iTrains app

Function to import WinTrack track plans.
I wish I could import track plans created with WinTrack.
3 votesIn general file formats are not documented.
However, you can always import a snapshort of any layout as a image.

Keep the parts and stock window in foreground when the app goes into background
The parts and stock window are hidden when the app goes
into background. This is annoying when you try to order your part list on a webshop in the webbrowser. Then the part list is hidden.3 votesFeature request grooming:

Revert to pointer after selecting object in sidebar
When I've clicked on the Delete button, and then select an object from the sidebar, revert the selection mode back to the pointer.
1 voteToo specific to be useful for majority of users

Reset "0" Points of layout by clicking in ruler.
In many drawing and layout programs it is possible to select the zero point by clicking in the ruler. For instance, you could set the zero point anywhere in the layout having positive and negative numbers indicating how far from the zero set point you are.

selection in the Community layouts
It could be nice that when looking in the community you can also select the scale but also the size of the layout.
p.e. all layout smaller or equal to 1.5m x 1.0 m.4 votesThe Community Layouts browser now supports sorting by layout area (actually used, not canvas size).
A dedicated search by size is not planned

Conversion of layout between scales
If I planned N scale layout but now like to see what it looks like in a HO scale I would like to convert my work so I don't need to redo just fix the areas that may not fit due to scale.
1 voteUnfortunately there are no track systems on the market that provide identical track geometries in multiple model scales so this task cannot be automated.

Export as DXF
As a user I want to further use the track plan for designing CNC milling paths or similar. Therefor I need to be able to export the track plan as DXF file.
Acceptance Criteria:
- the application provides an additional menu item in the "File" menu to export as DXF
- when the user chooses the menu item, a file-save dialog is opened and the dialog automatically suggest the ending .dxf
- in the file-save dialog, an option popover can be shown to select the desired DXF release (e.g. R13)
- the exported DXF file shall contain the same layer…1 voteThanks for the feedback -
we are currently planning export to the Collada 3D file format (.dae), which is supported by virtually all modern apps. Please use the existing feature request

Auto Create from a Scan Drawing
Convert a scanned pen or pencil image, perhaps a PDF, into a rough first pass layout - select the area to convert, set scale, default turnout #(s), fill with flex or approximate with sections. Speeds my workflow from pencil draft to editable RailModeller Pro file.
3 votes..while that would be a great feature unfortunately the difficulties on various levels are manifold and would consume an immense amount of our time and effort.

Add scale and more legend elements to custom library
Add library elements so that we can drag and drop various reference scales with english or metric at fine (1mm or 1/16"), semi-fine (1cm or ⅛") and coarse (20cm or 6")
1) to confirm printed to actual
2) provide a context based on the model scale you are working in
3) or perhaps a refinement of the measure tool in the tool selector5 votesFeature request grooming:

multiple things I have noticed :
- command-scroll wheel should zoom in/out (in 2d and 3d view)
- in 3d view, shift could be used to select between strafe and rotate
- points don't seem to be graded (at least in the 3d view)
- the grading assistant needs to display the effect the controls would have on the tracks for better comprehension
- import picture should allow for a way to set scale (for instance drawing a line between 2 points and specifying a distance (in whatever unit) this would automatically size the image to fit whatever scale is used (have a control to specify scale on import, too)

Oval helix
In N-scale often an oval helix is used to reduce the rise under 2% because the locomotives are not that strong for long trains. Therefore it would be nice to add a (3rd) oval shape choice to the Smart Insert of an Helix. The Helix Characteristics should be extended with the length of the straight rail between the bends

Track tilting
You already have gradient for up and down. Adding a gradient for sideways would allow better modelling of banked tracks.

Combine "Required Parts" with "Visible Layers" and/or "Active Layer"
This would allow me to see what I need for a particular section of my layout. I split my "up line", "down line", "relief line" and "sidings" out to separate layers, and it'd be useful to be able to see what components I still need to buy for each one.

Allow positioning of elements at negative X/Y/Z coordinates
I like the ability to position an element at a specific X/Y/Z coordinate in my room. But, if I accidentally position something too close to the zero X/Y position, the ENTIRE layout will shift, to allow room for that new element - which is obviously not ideal behavior.
It looks like the "Z" position of track will happily go below the "Floor" of the room - which is fine, once we can establish elevation to Shapes I will WANT some areas below the floor (e.g. stairs coming up into the room). But you can't establish a negative X or Y…

Add track near edge of board automatically selects valid orientation
Bug when placing track near board edge. Express 6.2.6 1177, LGB track library
Steps to reproduce:
lay track section near edge of layout (e.g. turnout pointing up near top edge)
select track section that will fit in some orientations but not others (e.g. curved section)
Expected behaviour:
- default orientation will fit if possible, hitting space to cycle orientations won't select illegal placements
Actual behaviour:
- default orientation sometimes will not fit. Cannot place track section to 'space' through to working orientation
Alternative expected behaviour:
- allow illegal placement but indicate this by colour or some such. Don't allow additional tracks to be…

startup window size not always full screen
On startup / new file / open file, the window always seems to expand to the borders of the screen area. Most apps open to cover only a portion of the screen, and their documents remember their window location & size on close and re-open.
Suggestions:
opening an existing document restores the previous window size & location
option for new documents to occupy less than the entire visible area
