Natural features like waterfalls, streams, rivers, ponds, lakes, etc.
There is another thing I miss. Would be great to have library of natural features like waterfalls, streams, rivers, ponds, lakes, etc. And it would be ideal if feature like stream, river would have functionality of free hand adjustment of curvature so it could be fitted into landscape. This would allow us to plan water features flow along layout.
31 votesDedicated tools for rivers and waterways are planned for the future!

A way to force two tracks to connect [Lower Precision, Higher Tolerance]
Two tracks can be very close but not connected. I would like to be able to select both tracks and ask them to be connected. This should be extended to a whole selection. Sometimes selecting adjacent tracks the mouse moves slightly and a small disconnection appears somewhere. It is very difficult to find it. I would like to be able to select all tracks and say "connect"
122 votesA dedicated function to connect all tracks in the selection and appending each track to its closest neighboring track could be added in the future

An indication of wiring blocks
It would be nice to be able to identify wiring blocks, i.e. identify sections of the tracks that are connected electrically. This is very important when planning a layout. Also, the program could identify reverse loops that need special isolation.

Automatic establishment of minimum required height when one track over another.
During design process tracks can be placed over another. Software immediately establish a minimal distance between tracks and asks for slope definition which is allredy defined as function in the RailModeller.
72 votesMinimum height checks / warnings are scheduled for a future update!

The ability to highlight multiple sections of track and create a parallel section of track
So if you have a highlighted curved section, section with points included or "S" section of multiple track elements. I would be handy to have the ability to create a parallel of it with the options of setting distance apart, exceed minimum and recommended radius warning, follow inside or outside curve of track so as to create parallel track to points radius.

the ability to align shapes drawn with the shape tool where you are able to align the tops, centres or bottoms vertically or horizontally.
I'd like to be able to select multiple shapes and align them but clicking a button. Being able to align the tops, centre or bottom either vertically or horizontally would be great when drawing buildings along the side of a road or track.
24 votesA general alignment feature is scheduled for a future update!

The possibility to flip the layout
After spending hours on perfecting a layout it would be great to be able to flip the layout horizontal or vertical. Basically left turnouts becomes right turnouts etc-

Bezier shape/curve tool
Bezier tool like in Illustrator to make custom shapes
27 votesCurves will be added to a future release!

A way to force the track into ideal geometry [Precise Alignment, Zero Tolerance]
Currently, there's a small error tolerance at each connection. When you move track around, the exact geometry is kept. This means that slowly, over time, the errors can add up. The only way to get rid of all the errors is to manually reconnect each individual track piece. It would be nice if there could be a way to just force all the tracks into their canonical alignment, with zero error. (If there's loops, this might force certain parts of the layout to disconnect. That's ok. It's the whole point. Finding what the actual error is.)

3D Cuts with metrics of my 3 dimensional plan
To realize a plan with multiple levels it will be very helpful to show and print cuts of my 3D plan to realize the wooden infrastructure for the rails
96 votesSupport for exporting 3D cuts (Spanten/Air Frame) will be added in a future release

Better 3D view with the ability to see rolling stock and basic building shapes instead of flat images
The available 3D view is not really much help when trying to imagine building placement or the appearance of a populated railway.
All I am asking for is that the presently flat shapes of buildings (i.e. self drawn rectangles) and rolling stock gain some height in the 3D view.109 votes -
Ability to create modules and being able to plan modular railroad arrangements
We have a lot already and need mainly a new supporting feature: Transfer (small) layouts to Railseteditor to create modules

Add a minimum radius highlight feature
A minimum radius is set in the project properties and whenever a track radius is chosen or flex track is bend below this radius the location is highlighted on the worksheet

Easy way to save / load "track snippets" (Macros / building blocks)
It would be nice to save/load special combinations of tracks (brace cross roads < Hosenträger-Weichen) etc.
31 votesMacros are planned for a future update

Easements / spirals to a specified minimum radius for a specified degree of curvature
For example, having an easy way to position and connect two perpendicular tangent tracks (a 90° bend) with a smooth spiral in and out of a 24" minimum radius curve.

Export as a 2D vector file - .ai or .cdr or SVG as 1:1 scale use on plotters/laser cutters
This will make printing/cutting at 1:1 and image manipulation so much easier
35 votesSome vector format support is planned!
