  1. Alt-scroll for zoom centred on the mouse cursor

    When alt-scrolling to zoom, the zoom point seems to be in the centre of the canvas. This is annoying when the feature to be zoomed is near the edge of the layout, because I need to zoom - scroll - zoom - scroll ... .

    Can the zoom point default to under the mouse cursor instead?

    The Alt-Scroll function zooms the layout, currently keeping the current center whenever possible.

    The current selection can be centered using the View > Center on Selection function (Control-C)!

  3. Hand-Tool

    Hand-Tool zum Verschieben des Bildschirm-Ausschnitts, wie in anderen Programmen auch.
    Oder sollte es das schon geben?

  6. Ability to place rolling stock on track to verify track capacity

    It would be nice to be able to put rolling stock on the track to verify things like track capacity and clearances.

  7. Landscape frames (Spanten)

    For landscape modelling it would be a great help to be able to place frames - either in a regular manner (checkers board) or manually. These frame repesent the landsape profile at their position and can be used to implement that landscape (by printing, copying to wood and cutting out).

  8. Better handling a small track sections

    When laying track, moving the smallest pieces is very much hit and miss.

    Selecting such track is already complicated, leading to a zoom, and a careful mouse drag to select it.

    If I try to move a very small item, I end up either:
    - rotating it
    - attaching a new piece of track to it mistakenly

    At the moment, I workaround the issue by carefully selecting the track, deleting it, to then add it again in the desired spot.

    It would be nice of the software could behave in a simple "point", "click" to select then "drag" to new…

  9. Close track connections with 'generic bumper' (Generische Prellböcke als Gleisabschluß)

    Update (12/2018): Any open track connection should be terminated by a generic bumper if desired to clean up layouts.

    Prellböcke sollten als Gleisabschluß erkannt werden und nicht mehr als offenes Gleis markiert werden wenn ausgewählt ist: Dokument - "Offene Verbindungen hervorheben".
    Ebenso sollte bei Prellböcken, welche ein Gleis beinhalten und die nicht nur auf Gleis gestellt werden, der Schienenweg mit eingezeichnet werden. Bsp: TT Tillig 83100 hat 41,5mm Gleis.

    The new “Track Decorations” section in the “Element” menu now offers commands to terminate any plain track (straight, curve, flex) with an open track connection using a generic bumper.

    More customization options (bumper shapes, colors) to follow in later updates!

  10. A library of T-TRAK Modules

    We need a library of n scale T-TRAK modules for those of us who are architects of modular layouts at train shows. The "standards" for modules can be found on

  11. Export 3D view as image

    If Export as image is selected in 3D view, Railmodeller always generates a 2D image. I would like an option to generate a 3D view as 3D image.

  12. Einfache 2D CAD Funktionen | Besseres abgreifen von Maßen | Erstellen von Straßen mittels Bezier-Kurve

    2D CAD:
    Es wäre hilfreich Linien mit der Verwendung von Winkel und Länge zu Zeichen. Auch Kreise mit Mittelpunkt- und Radiusangaben wären hilfreich. Zudem sollten Linienenden, Schnittpunkte jeder Art (Kreis/Linie) und Kreismittelpunkte als Fangpunkte fungieren.

    Maße:
    Das Tool um Maße abzugreifen dürfe verbessert werden. Auch hier sollten bekannte Punkte (z.B. Gleismitte am Gleisende / Gleisanfang / Schnittpunkte etc.) als Fangpunkte fungieren. Dass würde einen exakten Maßübertrag vom Railmodeller auf die echte Modellbauplatte sehr erleichtern. Nicht immer ist ein 1:1 Ausdruck hilfreich.

    Straßen:
    Eine einfache Straßenerstellung mittels Bezier-Kurve + Angabe der Straßenbreite. Gerne auch mit Farbauswahl und wenn noch Luft ist,…

  13. ability to alter opacity of the 3d track shadows

    The solid black shadows in 3d view are too intense. I'd like to be able to configure the shadows to a less intense colour by or transparency

  14. Controllers other electrical devices

    Underlying wiring to and from controllers and other Märklin control devices. with wiring in Märklin recommended colours. These going to individual input / output points on CS3, S88 etc. Using auto zoom to individual control boxes permitting connection to individual ports.

  15. Show layout size in community layout browser

    It would be helpful if the community layout browser showed the layout size in your preferred units somewhere. Some layouts put the size in the title, which means you have a confusing mix of metric and US measures.

    The benefit is that you know you have a certain baseboard size, so you want to start with something that fits.

  16. Free Form Adding text

    Have the ability to add text anywhere on layout. Example: Pond, Park, Campground, Access Panel, Deep woods, Future expansion area etc....

  17. When selecting 3D have it default to center screen instead of bottom of screen.

    Always difficult to center since it is a slow process.

    The ‘Reset’ function in 3D mode has been slightly tweaked in the latest update 6.1.2 to place the initial eye point at about 50% above the layout looking down at a 45 degree angle.

  18. Gruppieren

    Es wäre sinnvoll, wenn man mehrere Gleise und Weichen gruppieren könnte, dann hätte man die Möglichkeit komplette Gleiskombinationen und heufog benutzte Weichenkombinationen zu verschieben. Schön währe auch, wenn man sich eigene Gleise erstellen und im Gleiskatalog ablegen könnte.

    All vector formats supported by the Preview app – e.g. pdf, ps, ai, eps, … – can be imported using the “File > Import Image” menu command or by simply dropping images on an open layout document!

  20. More contrast to the gray description

    Is it possible to add a little more contrast to the gray description on the tracks? For many elderly people it is difficult to read.
