Companion app for iPad (a.k.a. "Viewer")
I know there's an existing thread for a fully functional iPad version, but in lieu of that, I was wondering if there's any possibility of a sort of paired down companion app for iPad. A nice little viewer application that allows you to zoom in and out and show/hide layers would be really handy when out in the garage working. I'd happily throw down $20 or so for something like that, especially if it allowed me to support creation of a fully fledged version down the road.
The latest version of our app for iPadOS now features a ‘+’ button in the catalog for opening local (private) layouts e.g. from iCloud Drive:

I look forward to it - as currently I have no use for this until I can view my own layouts

We are happy to announce that our iPad app for browsing and downloading layouts created by RailModeller Pro users and shared to the Layouts Community is now available on the App Store:

If RMPro were to support a web server then a web app could be written for iOS… QED (iOS side).

We are currently working on our first, simple iOS track planning app to explore the limitations and possibilities of the mobile platform.

A full fledged iPad app sure would be nice - but we would have to price it appropriately (i.e. similar price to the macOS app) and unfortunately realistically priced apps just don't work on iOS at this point.
(as many - much bigger - companies had to learn the hard way) -

A viewer is fine but a full fledged iPad app with with at least a core set of functions is most needed. I think the market has moved past companion apps that are just viewers.

..well don't know about 20 bucks, but it wouldn't be worthless to me either
(that is: happy to pay more than zero bucks) :-) -

Don't know about $20 -
but if people are willing to pay 2-3 bucks for sticker packs in the iOS 10 messages app it shouldn't be free either :p -

That's great news. Thanks!

It's actually planned -
viewing only but with the ability to toggle pretty much all the display modes and settings as in the desktop app!
Plus some community features to be introduced in the future..
