So basically this would boil down to
    - Selecting a curve track radius
    - Selecting a switch
    - Performing a variation of the 'Close Gap' function for both straight segments

    (gray in attached image)

Could be interesting if there's enough traction for this idea in the user base.

Sounds like a great idea, though it's more complicated if you think about it in more detail -

The app can give you the optimal number of flex tracks that need to be purchased, but you'd then have an amazing puzzle at your hand figuring out how to cut the flex tracks into pieces and where the individual pieces would go on your layout..

I.e. just providing a number (minimum number of flex tracks) unfortunately isn't a satisfactory solution.
Having said that, we're thinking about a pragmatic approach!

Recent versions add the ability to filter the Library Catalog to only include items present in the stock

..that would make sense for favorite *libraries*, right?

My understanding is that this request is about favorite *elements* withing a library.
Kinda like a stock for parts you don't necessarily own (yet).

Creating custom track libraries will be possible with the Library Editor module currently used internally and to be released as an optional add-on for all users soon.

Eine einfache Straßenerstellung mittels Bezier-Kurve + Angabe der Straßenbreite. Gerne auch mit Farbauswahl und wenn noch Luft ist, mit und ohne Mittelstreifen (auswählbar).

    Hi Harald,

thanks for your input. It's on the to-do list but unfortunately resources for a small project like ours are limited.

    Additional note:

Max. elevation constraint will be added as an optional setting for each layout.
All layout constraints will appear as messages or warnings and won't prevent users from 'violating' them.

Max. elevation per layout will be added soon.

Grades >10% - which is already very steep, usually 4-5% shouldn't be exceeded - are a problem since at this much inclination tracks are starting to get significantly shorter (as viewed from above) and we cannot guarantee the connections between tracks make sense any more..

Technically it would be relatively easy to detach all tracks in such a hidden/detached layer.

    However -
While it could be a useful feature for advanced users it would be potentially dangerous for casual users of the app, i.e. effectively offering an option to "shoot yourself in the foot" when activating this feature by accident and subsequently planning layouts that cannot be built physically.

Quick update: We'll plan to add a 'force connect' function to the app soon once our major update 6.0 has been released to the public later this year or early 2018!

Version 5.0.11 also re-introduces an option to highlight tracks that are not connected

Version 5.0.11 introduces preferences for track tolerances.
This (optionally) allows tracks to be recognized as connected even if they don't perfectly align.

Thanks for the input - treating modules pretty much as immutable groups sounds like the best way forward at this point. Possibly with the inclusion of a baseboard!

Definitely on the road map at some point.
It would also be awesome to share modules online and allow people to build 'virtual club layouts' by combining the online modules - and share the 'club layouts' online as well, or at least share a picture..

Please us this feature request to vote if you'd like to see more 2D vector outputs to Illustrator, Affinity Designer or generic SVG vector format.

If you'd like to see 3D support please use this dedicated feature request instead:

3D export is planned as a separate item!
Plain 2D file formats are currently available via the PDF export option/print to PDF

Building blocks should be organized by

    - model scale (e.g. all H0 blocks),
    - optionally filtered by track library (show only blocks w/ Atlas True Track elements)

(by Carlo Filippo Follis Carlo Filippo Follis on July 24, 2017)

Often in a large layout, geometries of tracks is equal and are repeated.

It would be useful to create a function to store binary groups. This "Macros" function would make the design of complex layouts faster.

This function may be called, for example, by:

    H0 »Tracks » Macros

However, if you choose to create a Menu as Shape or Smart Insert, the user should not abandon the binaries library he has in use.

The name of the Macro must be decided by the user.
Macro should also be subject to the brand of binaries used. For example:

    – Fleischmann HO Profigleis
    – – Macro 1

    and also:

    – Miscellaneous
    – – Macro misc 1

To better understand the utility of the function you can look at the sample image:
    http://www.carlofilippofollis.name/files/2017/07/railmodeller-idea-n-003-macros.jpg

The function can be useful for tracks but also for groups of building or ...

"Some track constructions and standard and repetitive. There is a best way to construct a 72 inch radius reverse loop, a crossover, or parallel track with clearance for long cars on curves. I am sure your users could name many more. You could save them time by adding these to your smart options."

General snippet manager would store snippets locally.

Along with community sharing for layouts later this year this could further be extended to include 'public domain' snippets shared by other users.

Similar to 'text snippets' in text editors one could mark a selection of tracks and make it available in all layouts for quick access

Yes, terrain planning is on the road map.

Quick tip: Clicking on a line between two points inserts a new point between the two existing points, Opt-Click removes a point.

This could be realized e.g. via a "Reconnect all tracks" functionality.

    Note:
Pretty much the opposite functionality as requested in "Adjustable tolerance for sectional track joints"

Not sure what you're referring to with 'errors can add up' - there's no such built-in mechanism allowing faulty connections.
Maybe an example image or layout would help..
