I'm using Free-Mo and I agree, it would be terrific to be able to build a "Module" (possibly with multiple Layers, e.g. track, scenery, roadbed, baseboard, etc) and to be able to lock a single module to be able to treat it as a fixed unit - move it into place, rotate it, etc.

I would also like to be able to quickly take a "Module" into its own development window, where it gets positioned to 0"/0" X/Y and I can make changes to the module (including setting elements exactly by position as Friso commented, so that we have exact alignment with other Modules), then take it back into my "Layout" window again as a single object that I can manipulate with my other modules.

Running into this issue now, I'm using (like many modelers) only Flextrack and specific elements otherwise required - e.g. switches and crossovers. Then joining the elements with Flex, using the Control-F tool. But RailModeller will happily bend flex track to any ridiculous angle. What I'd want is to be able to set my minimum radius and have RailModeller adjust the flex as necessary - even using an "S" shape if that will let it connect - and if it won't, just let me know that it won't without violating the radius.

This should not be a "per-layout" constraint though, it should be something we can set as needed. My mainline minimum radius is 48" but my sidings can be much tighter.
