Display imperial units using fractions
When using inches instead of displaying a decimal, e.g. 12.25" instead use a fraction rounded to the nearest 1/16", e.g.
12 1/4"
US tape measures don't use decimals and converting measurements shown with the ruler tool as well as the Element panel to 1/16" is cumbersome.

Two precision settings for 1/16 and 1/32 sound like a reasonable default!

In construction ⅛ is usually good; some take it to a 1/16. In furniture or model building the option to resolve to a 1/32 or even a 64th would be ideal.
1⁄64in= 0.3968750mm

Copy that! A switch to toggle between different precisions might be useful.

1/32nd or 1/64th would be better. I'm not sure why I used 1/16th in my request/example.

When working on construction projects with imperial units, is it common to work with a 1/16 'resolution'?
To my understanding you're effectively limited to a precision of ~1,6 millimeters.
