  1. Show / hide grades on Document tab

It seems weirdly inconstant to have the Show / hide grades labels under the View tab for often it's used. It should be under Element Labels as a check box

  2. Custom location for the stock file

I run RailModeller Pro on two computers.
Sharing a layout on iCloud is easy but I would also like to share the stock file.

  3. T-TRAK modules for N scale (actual size..)

The T-TRAK standards has modules for simple and corner shape

'Single module size for N-Scale is 12 1⁄8 inches (310 mm) wide by 8 1⁄4 inches (210 mm) deep. Depth of a straight module can be up to the size of a corner module (usually 14 3⁄8 inches (370 mm)). Depth is often 12 inches (300 mm), 13 inches (330 mm), or 14 inches (360 mm) inches, rather than the full size of a corner module. This allows more space for scenery, and does not crowd the center of the table. Corner modules are 14 3⁄8 inches (370 mm) square'

  4. Print section of entire track layout

"I've started planning/building a relatively large model train layout (see layout).
Unfortunately, when printing the plan, I can't select a specific…

  5. Library Editor

I would like to be able to design new track components and add them to my personal library. The most complicated component would be a switch. I am buliding handlaid narrow gauge track using stub switches. How do I put my designs into my library? Just for off the wall, suppose I had a 4'8.5" inch gauge layout. My switches would all be custom. So it I'm BNSF and wanted to use this software to lay out a new yard, how would I do it?

  6. Flex track calculator for cut of rest bits

I use quite a number of flex tracks to fill in lengths of tracks that aren't available. So I have quite a lot of rests lying around which I can still use in other parts of my layout.

Now Railmodeller always calculates a full new flex track if you go to the itinerary list where you can also see the costs.

Imagine, RailModeller could have a preference like: Keep rest Flex Track-Cut-Offs longer than ... mm (or ...%) or even 0.
Then RailModeller could calculate the needed FlexTracks on the sum of the flex track lengths used in the layout.…

  7. Add “Anchor point selector” (similar to Affinity, Illustrator, InDesign, ..)

We often have to modify graphic objects. It would be useful to modify, for example, the length of a rectangle while maintaining the placement of its center point.

This feature would also allow you to know the various anchor points ( X/Y measurements) of the object without having to calculate it. Knowing the different measures is needed to match another graphic element with utmost precision.

  8. baseboard elevation

I'm doing a multi-layer layout and would love to have more then 1 base board level, since my 2nd level is just floating in mid air.

So with that, being able to adjust base board level - would be awesome. Also more then 1 base board layer would work well here.

  9. Specify custom track bed width (Printing sub-roadbed)

After printing on full size you need to draw the plywood sub-roadbed manually. I would like to see a option for a sub-roadbed with adjustable width. A preview of the sub-roadbed in 3D would also be nice.

  10. Favorites in Libraries

I am building a layout with Atlas Track but know I want to focus on certian parts and NOT use others. I would love to be able to mark my "favorites" and see them in the list. Would make it much easier to find what I am looking for and protect me from use a snap switch for instance when that isn't my preferred product.

  11. Ability to set the maximum grade/elevation

Currently the maximum elevation is set to 10%, hard coded in the SW. For rack rail it is no problem to have it to 35%.

Would be nice when it is possible to set the maximum elevation by the user, 10% for example is already 'a lot' for standard tracks.

Having two limits would be the way to go:
1: The current 10% that can be set by the user, when you go over it, you get a warning, not a message that it is not possible.
2: The upper limit, for example 35%, where you get the message that…

  12. Grade and Height adjustments

Height adjustments are a pain. Start over. Make them intuitive. One adjustment to close gaps should not wipe out an entire grade or reset the height of an entire layer.

  14. A smarter, easier to use gap closing function

Don't call it "smart" gasp closing when I can do better by eyeball. There are too many steps to the process. Again, make it intuitive and easy to use.

  15. Curve radius presets and options

Many O Scale Locomotives and passenger cars require a minimum radius of O72. According to the creator of fastback most will run on as tight a cutie as O48 at reasonable speeds.

Allow users to preset a minimum curve of O72 with optional use of O60 and O48 curves in specific situations. Concurrently, display only the library for the minimum curve and above unless tighter radiuses are opted for.

  16. Export as 3D file for using in SketchUp, Blender, or similar apps

An export of the entire layout as a standard 3D file format would allow further editing in 3D apps, adding scenery, animate the layout, etc.

  17. replace parts with compatible parts

I'd like to be able to change all my Atlas 500 36" Super-Flex Track (wood ties) with Atlas 502 36" Super-Flex Track (concrete ties) or replace four Atlas 524e 2 Inch Straights with a single Atlas 525 package of four of the same, etc. Or switch to Peco or Weller, etc. equivalents. (Perhaps via the Parts Lists?)

  18. Natural features like waterfalls, streams, rivers, ponds, lakes, etc.

There is another thing I miss. Would be great to have library of natural features like waterfalls, streams, rivers, ponds, lakes, etc. And it would be ideal if feature like stream, river would have functionality of free hand adjustment of curvature so it could be fitted into landscape. This would allow us to plan water features flow along layout.

  19. A way to force two tracks to connect [Lower Precision, Higher Tolerance]

Two tracks can be very close but not connected. I would like to be able to select both tracks and ask them to be connected. This should be extended to a whole selection. Sometimes selecting adjacent tracks the mouse moves slightly and a small disconnection appears somewhere. It is very difficult to find it. I would like to be able to select all tracks and say "connect"

  20. An indication of wiring blocks

It would be nice to be able to identify wiring blocks, i.e. identify sections of the tracks that are connected electrically. This is very important when planning a layout. Also, the program could identify reverse loops that need special isolation.
